Enclosed is a HyperCard stack which will convert between QuickTime movies and PICS files or PICT file sequences, in both directions. Being a HyperCard stack, you can open it up and change it. For example, if you need to convert a whole bunch of PICT files into individual single-frame QuickTime movies, the existing XCMDs and XFCNs should be able to do the job; all you need to do is write some new HyperTalk.
This is still pretty preliminary, so use with care. Some obvious problems I can
think of:
• Hitting command-dot to abort a conversion will leave things allocated,
resource files open etc in HyperCard’s memory.
• If a movie has alternative video tracks with different depths, I should
really choose the highest-quality one for generating PICTs, but I don’t. At the
